Frambury Fields

Frambury Fields is a collection of 97 new homes for Trivselhus, forming a new settlement extension on the outskirts of the historic village of Newport in Essex

A new range of housetypes was developed for the client Trivselhus, taking inspiration from the local vernacular architecture in the village and re-interpreting local forms and materials within the designs. A range of differing plan layouts was developed - open plan, cellular, bungalows, 2 and 3 storey, corner turners - to create choice for potential purchasers and also develop the feel within the neighbourhood of an ad hoc village that has developed over time.

The masterplan was arranged to create a new public garden square at the head of a tree lined boulevard, which gives access to the development from London Road. A series of formal and informal side streets, courtyards and lanes was developed to create a network of differing spaces and places with a strong identity.

The energy efficient designs are embedded with eco friendly technologies and renewable materials through the Trivslehus Climate Shield® system, which is similar to Passivhaus standards for energy consumption  and CO2 emissions .
